Description
Refugio Perú is the ideal place to spend the night before climbing Pisco (5752 m a.s.l.), known as the ‘Balcón de los Andes’ for its impressive views of the Cordillera Blanca.
It is also an excellent option for those wishing to visit Laguna 69. Staying at the refuge allows you to start very early and enjoy this famous destination more peacefully before most visitors arrive, as well as having a more immersive mountain experience.
A visit to the refuge can also be combined with stops at Lagunas de Llanganuco and Portachuelo de Llanganuco, using the trip to explore some of the Cordillera Blanca's most famous landscapes.
From Huaraz, travel to Yungay, then continue by road to Cebollapampa, where the hike to the refuge begins. We recommend a tour or private car.
