Description
Laguna Keushu stands out for its intensely turquoise waters and pale sandy shores, something uncommon in the Cordillera Blanca's lakes. At the foot of Huandoy, it is a peaceful place where you can drive to the shore and camp, although some areas near the lake can flood during the rainy season.
Besides its scenery, the lake is very close to several pre-Hispanic archaeological sites, including the Keushu ruins and the Kotosh archaeological complex, allowing you to combine nature and history in one visit. You can also walk around the lake via the Keushu ruins (3.3 km | +100 m | 1 h), enjoying views of Huandoy and the mountains surrounding the valley.
