Description

Laguna Radián is a small lake near Huaraz and part of the Paso del Zorro route. The trail is not very demanding, and there are two cabins where you can take a break. Access is managed by the local community, which charges an entrance fee.

One of its main attractions is the view of Huascarán reflected in its waters. In the morning, when there is usually little wind, the surface can be completely still, offering a clear reflection of the snow-capped peaks. The scenery is also particularly beautiful at sunset, so camping by the lake lets you enjoy both times of day.

Several peaks of the Cordillera Blanca can also be seen from the lake, including Huandoy, Chopicalqui, Vallunaraju, Ranrapalca, Huantsán and Ocshapalca. Its proximity and the little effort needed to get there make it a good alternative for spending a few hours in the mountains or beginning acclimatisation before more demanding routes.
