Description
Laguna Rajucolta is one of the Cordillera Blanca's most impressive and accessible lakes. At the foot of the imposing Huantsán, it offers one of the finest views of this mountain, considered one of the most spectacular and challenging in the Peruvian Andes. It also offers views of Rurec and Cayesh.
The combination of the lake, the views and the great rock walls makes Rajucolta a good destination for enjoying the mountains without hiking.
You can also start from the gate, following a gently sloping trail on a relatively easy route, making it a good option for acclimatisation before more difficult hikes (12.5km | +300m | 4h).
