Description
Refugio Llaca lies at 4470 m a.s.l., in quebrada Llaca near Huaraz. From here, you can climb peaks such as Vallunaraju, Ocshapalca and Ranrapalca, hike towards laguna Llaca or go climbing nearby. It also serves as a Casa de Guías mountaineering training centre and a research centre.
Because of its proximity to Huaraz and direct access by car, it is also a very accessible option for a family day out, enjoying the mountain surroundings with very little walking.
